Flood Risk Assessment for Planning
Flooding can be one of the most contentious elements of the planning process, sometimes requiring consideration even for seemingly minor changes of use or permitted development. Interested parties frequently highlight flood risk concerns even when satisfactorily dealt with, and the need for a readable and effective Flood Risk Assessment has never been greater. A Flood Risk Assessment is not a standard product though and should be tailored to the unique nature of your proposals and the local flood risk characteristics.
Since 2004, I have prepared numerous Flood Risk Assessments across the UK for a wide range of developments including mixed use residential schemes, student accommodation, defence installations, water and power facilities and major transport infrastructure. I would be delighted to discuss my track record with you in relation to your own proposals and requirements.
When working for and seconded to the Environment Agency, I have reviewed scores of Flood Risk Assessments prepared by others and prepared responses objecting to and conditioning development. My deep understanding of planning policy and requirements reduces the risk associated with the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments.
